6th Annual General Body Meeting 6th Annual General Body meeting of Parent Teacher Association of the school was organized on 16th November, 208 within the presence of St. Joseph's Convent School. The meeting began with the lighting of the lamp and an inter religious prayer. It was followed by a short cultural programme by the students of the school. More than 500 parents marked thier presence for the occasion. Ms Neetu Joshi, one of the main resource person from Universal Solidarity Movement of value education for peace, Indore, was the main speaker for the occasion. Dr. A.K Mishra, was blessed by the benign presence of Sr. Maria-Anne, Moher General of Our Lady of Providence Congregation, Sr. Meera, manager of the school and Sr. Gracy, our honorable principal. In her address to the parents Ms. Neetu Joshi from U.S.M, introduced the 5 paths shown by U.S.M for self -transformation and for the making of young enlightened and visionary leaders. She in her solicitous and seminal address spoke on the issue of communal harmony and civic sense, role of parents in training the child for nation building and importance of values in child development and progress of country. She spoke with a lot of competence and conviction our duties towards the society and the nation. She held the audience by her excellent oratory. She presented her thoughts very clearly and effectively. Her inspirational address was acknowledged by the parents with great admiration and enthusiasm. The guest of honour , Dr. A.K. Mishra spoke about the role of parents in the development of students. The occasion was concluded by Sr. Gracy's address in which she informed the parents about the forthcoming events and plans to be implemented in near future in the school. She acquitted the parents to devote quality time to their children, to have a close bonding with their words and to show interest in their day to day life to give them a feeling of confidence and security. On this occasion three members of the school cabinet Tuhina Gopal, John Augustine and Divye Shivpuri of class XI shared their valued experience and the changes they felt within them after their training for enlightened leadership at U.S.M, Indore.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES a. To build up a closer relationship between parents, teachers and society in order to bring about more effective collaboration. b. To co – operate in all educational and other related programs aimed at the holistic growth and development of our students. c. To assist in organizing educational, social, recreational and other co – curricular activities in the school for the benefit of students and staff.
d.
To help parents and teachers to adopt more fully the visions and objectives
of the school. e. To generate funds, accept donations and contributions from the parents and the public for the development of the school and for charitable purposes. f. To organize seminars. fetes, dramas and other co – curricular activities beneficial to students, teachers and parents. g. To arrange for and pay for those teachers to be appointed/ engaged for remedial teaching or extra coaching, including music, dance, yoga etc.. h. To contribute funds/finances to further educational and other activities of St. Joseph’s Convent School, Shivpur and other schools, run or managed by the parent body, the society of St. Joseph’s Convent School. 2. MEMBERSHIP: The St. Joseph’s Convent School P.T.A is open to all parents of children presently studying in the school and members of the Teaching staff. 3. Membership Fee: The annual subscription is Rs. 200/- payable along with the first fee of each academic year. (The members of the staff and management are exempted from payment of this fee.) 4. Management: The affairs of the Association shall be managed by an Executive committee consisting of twenty one members including office bearers as stated: President, Vice – President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer. Out of a total membership of twenty one members:
5. Office bearers President: The president of the Association shall be the Principal of St. Joseph’s Convent School. The President shall preside over all the meetings and shall have a casting vote. The President shall have the power to reconsider any decision taken in her absence at the next executive meeting. Vice President: The vice president shall be elected from among the parent members and shall as the public relations officer. General Secretary: The General Secretary shall be elected from the parent body and is the executive officer of the association. He/she shall be responsible for the recording of proceedings, calling the meeting of the Executive Committee and the General Body meeting. Joint – Secretary: The Joint Secretary shall be elected from the members of the staff and shall assist the General Secretary in performance of his/her duties. Treasurer: The Treasurer shall be elected from the staff and shall maintain all accounts. The President and the treasurer will jointly operate all the accounts. The account books of the association shall be kept in the school and the president of the Association shall have access to the book of Accounts. 6. General Body Meeting. The Annual General Body Meeting of the Association shall be held in the first term. The following business shall be transacted.

· To prepare and submit every year at the Annual General Body Meeting, the accounts and reports of the activities of the Association for the previous year and the projected budget for the following year. 8. Finance and Accounting
9. Amendments to the Constitution The constitution can be amended by means of a motion approved by at least 2/3 of the members of the general body present and voting.
