Republic Day

“We the people of India…… adopt, enable, enact & give to ourselves this constitution”……….

On 26th January, 1950 these words become the foundation Republic India.  And today we all Indian proudly celebrate this day as Republic Day since then.

There is one more fact which makes this day special for every Indian, it was on this day Indian National congress, in 1929, in its Lahore session gave the call for ‘Purna Swaraj’ or ‘complete Independence’.  And hence as fruit of their hard struggle & sacrifice, we hereby, raise our head, salute the national flag & say “We proud to be Indians”.

Every year we celebrate Republic Day in our school with heart full of enthusiasm & pomp and show. Each day every students becomes a part of it.

This year’s function was organized by Mrs. Chaya teacher. She was full-well cooperating thought the preparation. Honorable Fr. Ivan Joseph was the chief guest on this auspicious day. He was introduced by Neeraj Sir as an eminent social worker, a persons of personality.

Moh Dwivedi & Siddharth of class 9th acted as hose, they did their jobs up to the mark. Songs by choir group & dances added colours to the days & gave it a patriotic touch.  A disciplined march past was being performed by senior students, lead by their respective house flags held by the leaders.

It was followed with distribution of mementoes to the winner in the athletics.  And then results for all round best performance in sports, on the basis of house was announced.  Blue house bagged the shield for best house. An eye opening speech was given by Harshita Sagar & Karthikey.  In their scripts, they focused on the present deteriorating state of our nation & its youths.

Our principal Sr. Theresa enlightened our day by her inspiring message about how the national festivals are losing their importance.  Our feeling for country becomes active only for a while on national days but as time passes we all get engrossed in ourselves.  So we must honour our country such that it stays forever..

Honourable Fr. Ivan Joseph presided over telling us the merits of being united.  As it is rightly said “United are stand & divided we fall”.. He took the live example of unity of Americans with which they faced the tragedy happened in 2001…..  Thus, we understood that these participations taking benefit of situation make us fight.. But its we who has to make the choice.  The function concluded with vote of thanks by Srijan Jaiswal & congregational song “Sare Jahan Se Accha”…
